Battersea in Wandsworth, South London lies on the banks of the Thames, and is home to many of London's historic architectural sites, such as the formidible Battersea Power Station. Its expansive fruit market, the New Covent Garden Market, regularly draws crowds in search of fresh produce, and there are plenty of busy pubs and restaurants in the vicinity to round off a day of shopping. Battersea's riverside location also provides some more upmarket bars on the waterfront, ideal for special or formal occasions.

The best way to reach Battersea is by Tube to Battersea Park or Wandsworth Road. Britain's 'busiest train station' Clapham Junction in St John's Hill is also located in the south-west of Battersea.
