The Empress of India
The Empress of India is an elegant gastro pub, situated at 130 Lauriston Road, at the edge of Victoria Park in Hackney.
Snacks such as Welsh Rarebit and Salt & Pepper Squid with Red Onion Jam are available at the bar which serves a range of draught ales and Continental lagers including London Pride, Timothy Taylor's, Bitberger and Amstel.
This Hackney foodie pub's menu includes starters like Artichoke & Leek Soup with Norfolk Honey and Brie Fondue with Gooseberry Jam & Toasted Sour Dough.
Main courses include Roast Pumpkin & Ricotta Dumplings with Spinach & Chervil Cream Sauce and Grilled Fillet of Salmon with Crushed Potatoes & Caper Berry Sauce.
Available at the weekend, the pub's rotisserie serves Whole Roast Free Range Devonshire Bronze Chicken served with Aioli, Watercress & Chips.
The Empress of India's delicious pudding menu including Sago Plum Pudding with Candied Mint & Creme Anglaise.
As well as being a gastropub, The Empress of India is available is also the perfect venue for special occasions and events with the pub able to accomodate lunches and dinners for up to 70 guests. The pub is also an ideal venue for more informal drinks parties with space for up to 150 guests.
Lunch is served from Monday to Saturday from midday to 3pm and on Sundays from midday tp 4pm. Dinner is served on Monday to Saturday from 6pm until 10pm and on Sundays from 6:30pm to 9:30pm.
The Empress of India is easily reached from Mile End and Bethnal Green Central Line tube stations.
