The James Figg
Overview
The James Figg is a proper pub, offering well-kept beer, honest pub food and a warm welcome. Thame is a lovely English market town and The James Figg is at the heart of it. The English pub, with its tradition of drink and chat and simple, satisfying food, is a great institution, often under threat. The menu is simple and traditional, the sort of pub food you fancy after a hard morning's work, or shopping. The food is straight forward, but the quality is right. All there chicken and eggs are free-range. There ham comes from outdoor-reared pigs and they roast it themselves. They work together with Thame neighbours, Newitt's Butchers, by serving their pies and sausage rolls. Food is served between noon and 2.30pm and 6.00 and 9.30pm. They also serve coffee and breakfast in the mornings. They have Thame's greenest beer garden, set behind The Stables they have an idyllic space perfect for lazing away sunny afternoons with a chilled bottle of sauvignon blanc and a bite to eat.
