Steve and Nicola Reynolds have been running the The Stagg for over ten years and were one of the first pubs to be labelled a Gastro-pub when in 2001 Steve was awarded a Michelin Star for his pub food; which, whatever the press said, never involved fashionable inappropriate ingredients.
Local produce treated simply is the thing in the glorious Herefordshire countryside. There are rooms at the pub and in a Georgian Vicarage with large garden in the village, where the pub’s chickens can be found. Steve is also an enthusiastic breeder of Middle-white pigs and a visit to The Stagg could involve their own sausages, bacon and faggots as well as Herefordshire beef and game in season.
Draught beer, local ciders, an 80 bin wine list, bar snacks and a la carte menus provide plenty of choice. The atmosphere is friendly and the pub is busy with diners who entertain a handful of local drinkers who love a chat.
