The White Swan pub and dining room is situated in the heart of Legal Land in Fetter Lane.
Formerly The Mucky Duck, this remarkable gastro pub has been entirely gutted and restored with a great pub on the ground floor and a first class dining room on the first floor and a new mezzanine area above the pub.
Run by brothers Tom and Ed Martin, the team behind the Well in Clerkenwell and the legendary Gun in Docklands, the pub and dining room are open for lunch weekdays between midday and 3pm and on weekday evenings between 6 to 10pm.
The pub's menu is refreshed daily with an a la carte menu available in the upstairs private dining room. Available daily during weekdays, the White Swan also offers an Express Lunch menu at lunchtime providing two top quality courses in one hour for just £15.00 (excluding service). Customers for the Express Lunch should note that they must arrive at 12pm sharp and vacate their table at 1pm
Meals in the pub area range from starters such as Sauted Chicken Livers, Shitake & Bacon with Toasted Brioche and Madeira Reduction to grilled 35 Day Aged Aberdeen Angus Rib-Eye Steak, Bearnaise and Hand Cut Chips.
A sample of meals in the first floor dining room includes Gloucester Old Spot Pork Belly, Celeriac Purée, Cider and Calvados Jus & Pan Fried Fillet of Sea Bream, Summer Vegetables & Morels with Noilly Prat Veloute.
"This,' said my financier friend, 'is better than our dining-room at the bank".
- The Sunday Telegraph Magazine.
"The food is blisteringly good. The presentation is simple but elegant, flavours are well matched, seasoning is upfront."
- Evening Standard Metro Life.
