Fleet Street is known as being, until the 1980s, the traditional home to the British national newspaper industry as well as being the old stamping ground of the notorious barber, Sweeney Todd.

Nowadays it is a vibrant part of the western border of The City of London and is adjoined by the legal districts of Fetter Lane to the north and and Temple to the south with The Royal Courts of Justice to its west; not to ignore The Old Bailey, just off nearby Ludgate Hill.

The area has a rich tradition of hostelries and taverns and Fleet Street today has a great selection of foodie pubs for discerning customers with notable gastropubs including The Punch Tavern.
